Manchester United’s January Transfer Window So Far: What You Need To Know

Manchester United have had a quiet transfer window so far but they have still been linked with signing a number of different players. With just over a week to go before deadline day, we thought it would be best to summarise what’s been happening.

One of the areas where the Red Devils have been actively looking for recruits is at right-back. Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is not believed to be satisfied with the lack of competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and that led to the club considering an approach for Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier.

However, the ex-Spurs star’s ban for betting infringements led to United cooling their interest. Norwich’s Max Aarons and RB Leipzig’s Nordi Mukiele are other players that have been considered but, at this time, it seems no new fullback will be signed this month.

The club are also believed to be looking at possible centre-back options. Dayot Upamecano is still thought to be on United’s radar, but he is likely to be a summer transfer target, along with Bayern Munich’s David Alaba.

Fiorentina’s Nikola Milenkovic has also been mentioned as a possible signing while, in recent days, a surprise name, Lens’s Facundo Medina has emerged as a potential candidate.
