United Eye Deal For Upamecano’s Teammate As They Target Competition For Wan Bissaka

Manchester United are interested in RB Leipzig right-back Nordi Mukiele, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Red Devils are looking to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but their first choice target, Atletico Madrid’s Kieran Trippier, is out until March due to a ban for betting infringements.

With that being the case, Mukiele and Norwich fullback Max Aarons have both been considered as potential alternatives ahead of the January transfer window.

Mukiele is also reportedly on Liverpool’s radar, and he has been a regular at fullback and right wingback for Leipzig under manager Julian Nagelsmann this season.

In the Bundesliga side’s two games against United in the Champions League group stages, the defender was injured for the 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford, but he featured at centre-back during the 3-2 win in Germany earlier this month.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been heavily linked with Mukiele’s teammate Dayot Upamecano but recent reports have suggested that they have now decided to look at other targets.
