Manchester United have held talks with the representatives of Celtic Vigo midfielder Gabri Veiga, according to reports in the Spanish media.
Liverpool, Manchester City and Bayern Munich are also said to be interested in the 20-year-old, who has made a big impression in La Liga this campaign. There was a mixed response to United’s pursuit of Veiga among fans on Twitter:

It is believed that Veiga’s release clause is €40m (£35m) and Celta will expect any club to match that figure if they want to sign the Spanish Under 21 international during the summer transfer window.
Considering his lack of first-team experience, you do wonder whether pursuing Veiga should be a priority for United. His best position is as a no.10 so he is unlikely to get much game time if he does move to Old Trafford, with Bruno Fernandes an undisputed starter. With that being the case, you would think that the money could be better spent on other areas of the pitch.
