United Have Made Key Transfer Decision On Erling Haaland And Fans Won’t Be Happy

Manchester United are now expected to focus their attention on signing a “creative target” rather than Erling Haaland his summer, according to the Manchester Evening News.

The local newspaper claims that both manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and football director John Murtough were fully behind making a bid for the Norwegian international, but Edinson Cavani’s decision to sign a new contract has changed things.

It means Haaland is unlikely to be the main target for the next transfer window. Jadon Sancho, who was previously not a priority, is believed to be back on the agenda.

The former Manchester City winger will reportedly be sold by Borussia Dortmund for the right price at the end of the season, with it being suggested that he could be offloaded for around €100m (£85.75m).

It’s a figure which is a lot lower than the €120m that was demanded last year but, with Chelsea and Liverpool now both said to be interested, a deal could be more difficult to complete.

With regards to Haaland, it does appear United have now moved firmly to the back of the queue as they prioritise other areas of the pitch.
