Rasmus Hojlund To Start, Antony On The Bench: Manchester United’s Predicted XI To Play Wigan

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag needs to secure a comfortable win against Wigan in the FA Cup on Monday evening.

If the Red Devils struggle against a League One team, there will be serious questions to ask, especially as the Latics are currently sitting 18th in the table.

In terms of team news, Andre Onana is set to start in goal, having been given permission to stay with the club by Cameroon despite the African Cup of Nations kicking off in under a week.

The 27-year-old could even face Tottenham next weekend, despite the fact that the match takes place just a day before Cameroon’s first group fixture against Guinea.

United are still without the likes of Harry Maguire, Victor Lindelof and Lisandro Martinez, so Raphael Varane and Jonny Evans are set to keep their positions in the centre of defence.

With Luke Shaw also sidelined and Sergio Reguilon having returned to Tottenham after his loan spell was cut short, it means Diogo Dalot will have to start at left-back, with Aaron Wan-Bissaka on the opposite flank.

There aren’t many options in midfield either. Casemiro (hamstring) remains unavailable, while Sofyan Amrabat is now away with Morocco at AFCON. Kobbie Mainoo should get the nod ahead of Scott McTominay in midfield. The teenager will line up alongside Christian Eriksen and captain Bruno Fernandes.

After missing the defeat to Nottingham Forest due to illness, Rasmus Hojlund should be fit to start after being pictured in training this week. The Danish international could lead the line, with Marcus Rashford on the left flank and Alejandro Garnarcho on the opposite wing. Antony may drop to the substitutes bench.
