Manchester United forward Edinson Cavani played a pivotal role as the Red Devils came from a goal down to secure a 2-1 win against Fulham last night.
The Uruguayan international was in the right place at the right time to score the equalising goal midway through the first half and manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was full of praise for the striker after the game:
“That’s a centre-forward’s goal and you’ve got to be there to score. That’s what he does. If you just watch him, if you have a player cam on him, his movement is incredible, fantastic. We’ve just got to get used to using him more.”
As Solskjaer points out, having someone with Cavani’s instincts in the box can be the difference in tight games, and supporters on Twitter have called for the 33-year-old to be a regular starter from now on:
Play him every game then

Cavani is our best striker, Greenwood and Martial should learn from him.

I really wish he was 3 or 5 years younger. Mad work rate. Has to be first choice striker now Ole

There were some doubts over Cavani’s signing back in the summer, with some questioning United’s transfer policy of recruiting another ageing player on a lucrative contract.
However, the Uruguayan’s goalscoring abilities, combined with his work ethic, have made him a worthwhile addition to the squad, and it certainly has parallels to when Zlatan Ibrahimovic was brought to Old Trafford.
