“Nothing To Say…” Sporting Director Speaks Out Amid Claims United Have Made Enquiry For 59M Rated Forward

Bayern Munich sporting director Hasan Salihamidzic has refuted reports that Manchester United have enquired about the availability of Leroy Sane.

The former Manchester City forward has been linked with moves away from the Bundesliga champions this summer but Salihamidzic insists the German international will be staying at the Allianz Arena:

“There’s no truth to that [report regarding United’s enquiry]. He’s an important player for us. There [is] nothing to say about that at all.”

United are not the only Premier League side who have been mentioned as potential suitors for Sane, with both Chelsea and Arsenal having also been credited with an interest in the player.

Despite Salihamidzic’s comments, reports in the German media have suggested that Bayern may be willing to sell if a club made an offer in the region of €70m (£59m).

From the look of things, though, it appears United are looking at a much cheaper option. A bid for Bologna’s Marko Arnautovic €9m (£7.6m) has been rejected, with the ex-West Ham player seemingly the main target for the Red Devils at the moment.
