Latest United Injury Report For The Week: Updates On Martial And Wan Bissaka

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that Anthony Martial (thigh) will not play against AZ Alkmaar on Thursday and is also touch and go for the Newcastle game this weekend.

The Norwegian also revealed that he is not sure when Aaron Wan-Bissaka will be ready to make his return after missing the draw against Arsenal due to illness:

“[For Martial] Maybe weekend. If not, after international break. Not Europa, no. Wan-Bissaka? Not sure.”

United have six other injury concerns heading into this week’s fixtures. The club are said to be hopeful of having Diogo Dalot and Angel Gomes back for the trip to Alkmaar.

Phil Jones is out until after the international break following his substitution at half time in the Carabao Cup tie versus Rochdale last week.

Luke Shaw is back in training after a hamstring injury, and we could see the left-back in action in one of the next two games. Eric Bailly and Timothy Fosu-Mensah (knee) are both out for the long term.
