Manchester United are “strongly interested” in Monaco defender Axel Disasi, according to journalist Ignazio Genuardi.
Last month, another report confirmed that the Red Devils had a meeting with France international’s agent and, while Genuardi has reiterated that Erik ten Hag’s side are keen, he also says West Ham have been keeping close tabs on the player:
Suivi de près par West Ham, qui l’a supervisé plusieurs fois ces derniers mois, le Monégasque #Disasi ambitionne de rejoindre une formation plus huppée l’été prochain. #Manchester #United apparaît fortement intéressé par son profil. #Mercato #ASM

Genuardi does emphasise, however, that even though the Hammers are following the player “closely”, Disasi would prefer a transfer to a higher-profile team, hinting that United could be that club.
Arsenal and Tottenham have also been mentioned as potential suitors for the World Cup finalist in recent months, but a lot will depend on who is prepared to pay the centre-back’s asking price.
It has been suggested that Monaco could demand as much as €50m (£44m) for the 25-year-old, and it remains to be seen if United are willing to spend that kind of money, considering he may only be a backup option for Raphael Varane.
