“Definitely Be An Attractive Option” Journalist Claims United Will Consider Swoop For 113M La Liga Star

Manchester United will be in the mix for Atletico Madrid forward Joao Felix if the Portuguese international becomes available for transfer, according to Pete O’Rourke.

The journalist believes the 22-year-old, who was signed by Atletico for £113m in 2019, would be a player of interest to the Red Devils:

“I’m sure Manchester United, as well as maybe some other Premier League clubs, will be interested in Joao Felix if Atletico Madrid did decide to cash on him. I’m sure he’d definitely be an attractive option for United.”

Reports in the Spanish press over the past couple of weeks have suggested that Atletico would consider selling Felix in the January transfer window, with the likes of United, Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle all have enquired about the striker.

However, those claims were refuted by Atletico’s president Enrique Cerezo recently who said that Felix is still very much part of the La Liga champions’ first-team plans.

Considering that Felix prefers to play as a false nine, it is hard to see where he would fit in at United. Manager Ralf Rangnick could potentially use him in a 4-2-2-2 formation but his permanent successor may have other ideas.
