United Offer Lucrative Contract To 16 Year Old Ligue One Starlet But There’s A Problem

Manchester United have offered a lucrative deal to Monaco midfielder Hannibal Mejbri, according to reports in France.

The Red Devils have been tracking the 16-year-old for several months but they are said to have now put a contract proposal on the table.

However, Mejbri is currently embroiled in a dispute with Monaco over the length of his contract. The Ligue One side claim the teenager has a deal until 2021, but the player and his family believe the agreement was never made official.

It means, the Frenchman could be available on a free transfer this summer, but it could be a while before the row between Monaco and Mejbri is resolved, with the legal commission of the LFP deliberating on the case.

The midfielder’s family want the player to move clubs and break the contract they feel is not legally binding. If he does, United will be waiting in the wings to snap up the France U16 international.
