Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all interested in signing Cagliari centre-half Sebastian Walukiewicz, according to reports in the Italian media.

The 20-year-old has impressed with his performances in Serie A this season, having helped his team to a mid-table position after ten games.

Walukiewicz actually only signed a new three and a half year contract last week but it is thought that the deal was designed to strengthen Cagliari’s bargaining position if any club tried to sign him in a future transfer window.

It is believed that the Italian club have slapped a €60m (£54.5m) asking price on the defender, which is a sizeable fee considering he has only made 24 appearances in Serie A since arriving from Poland in June last year.

United are likely to be looking at possible new centre-backs, with the Red Devils having conceded 17 in just ten games this campaign, but it remains to be seen whether Walukiewicz is a top target.
