Italian Side’s Sporting Director Reveals Transfer Stance On Manchester United Target

Juventus sporting director Fabio Paratici has revealed that the Italian club are not looking to sell Emre Can during the January transfer window.

The German international has become unsettled in Turin after being left out of the Champions League squad for the group stages, and he has been linked with a switch to Manchester United.

However, speaking about Can, Paratici said they see him as an important first-team player and he will be remaining at Juve:

‘He is staying with us. He is one of the most coveted midfielders. He has some opportunities and so do we, but I think he can be an important player for our project.”

The former Liverpool midfielder has played just eight games this season, with just two starts in the league. United are looking to strengthen in the middle of the park but Can is not believed to be high on their list of targets.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be focused on signing a more offensive-minded player with the likes of Bruno Fernandes, Christian Eriksen, James Maddison and Jack Grealish all being mentioned as potential options.
