Zlatan Backs Mourinho To Win Premier League Title At United

Former Manchester United striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic has backed Jose Mourinho to win the Premier League title during his tenure at Old Trafford.

The Portuguese manager has come under severe pressure in recent weeks after a number of poor performances, but the ex Swedish international believes his former coach can turn things around:

“I think he has the ability to win [the Premier League]. I think he is the right coach for that club, for that team. But a coach is only as good as his team, so it’s not like he can do miracles if the team is not good enough.”

“And I feel the team is good – it’s progressing, becoming better. This is his third year, the players know more and more the way he wants to play and how he wants it – so I believe, yes.”

United’s dramatic 3-2 comeback win over Newcastle United before the international break will need to be used as a springboard to push the Red Devils further up the table.

The Manchester club are currently in eighth place in the Premier League, seven points behind leaders Manchester City.

Following the international fixtures, United will face some difficult games with Chelsea away in the league, and Juventus at home in the Champions League.

They will then play Everton and Bournemouth ahead of travelling to Turin to face Juve once again, before the small matter of the Manchester derby in the middle of November.
