Manchester United are willing to pay half of Alexis Sanchez’s wages in a bid to offload him this summer, according to reports in the UK.
The Chilean has struggled for form and fitness since arriving from Arsenal in a swap deal back in January 2018.
Sanchez reportedly earns £26m a year currently, making him by far the highest earner in the Premier League, and United are aware that no interested club would come close to matching that salary.
The club’s offer to subsidise Sanchez’s move away from Old Trafford hasn’t gone down well with fans on Twitter:
Worst transfer in history he was a smasher at arsenal ffs

Sanchez’s move to United just hasn’t worked out and he has become a peripheral figure under manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.
The Norwegian will have the final say on the 30-year-old’s future at the club, with a loan move abroad the likeliest outcome at the moment. It must be said though that the majority of teams would struggle to even pay the £13m a year that United would ask for.
