“Will Ten Hag Call Me?” 68M Rated Brazilian Star Ponders Chances Of Making United Switch

Ajax winger Antony has spoken out about the possibility of joining Manchester United this summer.

The Brazilian international was said to be one of Erik ten Hag’s key transfer targets, but Ajax’s €80m (£68m) price tag has seemingly put the Red Devils off from making a bid. Asked whether he could still join his former coach at Old Trafford, Antony replied:

“Will Ten Hag call me? No idea. He has to discuss this with my agents, I’m focused on here. What will come will come, we’ll see. I feel good at Ajax. I give everything for this club, every minute. So I am loving this city and this club.”

It does seem as if United are now focused on signing cheaper alternatives to Antony. The likes of Alvaro Morata, Jamie Vardy and Raul de Tomas are all believed to be on the club’s radar, with most of the options likely to cost a third or even a quarter of the price it would have taken to sign the Brazilian.

The 22-year-old is reportedly still being courted by another club. Chelsea and Liverpool have both been credited with an interest in the forward so don’t rule him out making the switch to England in the coming weeks.
