Journalist Reveals United Have Competition For 67M Rated Brazilian As “Another Club” Makes “Contact” With Agent

Manchester United are expected to have competition for Ajax winger Antony, according to journalist Jonathan Shrager.

The reporter, who has sources close to the Manchester side, claims that “another club” has been “in contact” with the Brazilian international’s agent:

With Antony’s reported asking price being €80m (£67m), it’s likely that United are battling another Premier League team.

Reports in Brazil have linked Liverpool with the 22-year-old over the past week or so. That does make the Reds strong candidates for the player’s signature, although you have to say that their forward line is already very strong.

Another possibility is Chelsea. They have scouted Antony in the past, and the fact that they have tried (and failed) to recruit both Raphinha and Ousmane Dembele means they are in the market for a right winger.

Considering Ajax’s sky-high valuation, though, it is hard to see the Brazilian moving anywhere this summer, unless he agitates for a transfer.
