“Why Not?” Fred Warns Arsenal And City As He Makes Premier League Title Claim

Manchester United midfielder Fred says the “momentum” from the club’s Carabao Cup triumph could aid their attempts to challenge for the Premier League title.

While he knows the Red Devils face formidable opponents in Arsenal and Manchester City, the Brazilian feels top spot is still within reach:

“We know Arsenal and [Manchester] City are great teams, but we have our means to fight for it [the Premier League]. Our momentum is very good, so why not? We have three competitions left and will fight for each one of them. We are extremely happy today, it’s my fifth season here and this title means a lot to me and to the club’s way back to the top. We have a lot to fight for this season yet.”

Fred is feeling pretty bullish after United lifted the first trophy of the season, but it will take some effort to get themselves into title contention.

While Erik ten Hag’s side were in action at Wembley over the weekend, Arsenal extended the gap to eight points with their 1-0 victory over Leicester City.

It is certainly not an insurmountable gap to overcome but United are heavily reliant on the Gunners losing a number of games.

Even so, you would back the Red Devils to finish the season very strongly and they will be looking to take advantage of any slip-ups by the teams above them.
