Manchester United have held talks about signing Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Frenchman is out of contract next month and, despite having failed to secure his services last summer, manager Erik ten Hag appears to be determined to land the player at the second time of asking.
Fans on Twitter don’t really understand why United are so determined to snap up Rabiot, considering that a deal broke down due to personal terms previously:
What’s with our obsession with this mid player ffs, what’s wrong with ten hag !!!

It should be pointed out that Rabiot has had an outstanding season. He was an influential figure as he helped France to the World Cup final last year, and his performances for his club side Juve have been equally eye-catching.
The 28-year-old has scored 11 goals and provided six assists in 47 appearances this season and, while the Bianconeri were keen to keep hold of him, it appears he will become a free agent at the end of June.
