Ten Hag Is Huge Fan Of Belgian Teenage Sensation With United Having Already ‘Contacted’ The Player Ahead Of £7M Offer

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag is keen on signing Royal Antwerp midfielder Arthur Vermeeren, according to Sport.

The Catalan newspaper claims that both the Red Devils and Barcelona have been keeping tabs on the Belgium Under 19 international.

It is believed that United have even “contacted” Vermeeren at the behest of ten Hag, with a bid this summer not thought to be out of the question.

The 18-year-old only made his senior debut back in August but he has now played 32 first-team games, having quickly established himself as a regular starter for Antwerp.

Vermeeren has been part of a team that is currently top of the Belgian Pro League table with two games remaining, and his performances have been turning heads.

Antwerp are willing to sell Vermeeren

Sport claim that the teenager could be available for around €8m (£7m), which is a pretty reasonable fee, considering his potential.

Of course, any move for Vermeeren is likely to be dependent on how quickly United’s ownership situation is resolved, but it is clear that ten Hag would like to bring the Belgian to Old Trafford this summer.
