‘Watching Developments’ Report Claims United Are Keen On Chelsea Star Who Has Just Turned Down New Contract

Manchester United manager Ralf Rangnick has recommended that the club sign Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger, according to the Daily Mail.

The newspaper claims that the German international has rejected a new contract offer from the Blues, which is believed to be worth close to £200,000 a week.

With Rudiger believing he can earn anything up to £400,000 a week if he does leave Stamford Bridge on a free transfer this summer, there remains a massive gap between the two parties.

The Mail claim that United are “watching developments” and that Rangnick is a big fan of the 28-year-old, but whether they will make a move, it is still an open question.

Any final decision on the transfer will come down to the next permanent manager and, with the Red Devils having yet to decide on Rangnick’s successor, you’d have to think that another club would have made their move for Rudiger before the Manchester club have got their house in order.
