‘Very Highly Rated At United…’ Sky Reporter Confirms Ten Hag May Challenge Chelsea For Ligue One Star

Lyon fullback Malo Gusto is attracting interest from Manchester United, according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg.

The journalist claims that the 19-year-old is being considered as an option by manager Erik ten Hag, along with Jeremie Frimpong and Denzel Dumfries, as he looks to strengthen his options at right-back:

Gusto was also linked with Chelsea at the end of last month so the Red Devils may well have some competition for the Ligue One player’s services.

The defender came through the academy at Lyon before making his senior debut in January 2021. He was capped by France at Under 21 level later that year and he then went on to establish himself as a regular starter for his club.

Gusto has been deployed as a wingback in some fixtures this campaign, which suggests that he does possess the attributes necessary to compete with Diogo Dalot for a place on United’s right flank.

With ten Hag seemingly weighing up three different targets ahead of the January transfer window, we shall have to wait and see whether Gusto emerges as the number one candidate.
