United Weighing Up Surprise Move For 62 Cap International Defender Who Has Previously Said He’s A “Fan” Of The Club

Manchester United are considering whether to make a move for Borussia Dortmund right-back Thomas Meunier, according to reports in Germany.

The Belgian, who has 62 caps for his country, is out of contract in eighteen months’ time and Dortmund are considering whether to cash in on the defender in January.

Meunier has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford on numerous occasions in the past and, as far back as 2017, he admitted that he was a “fan” of the Red Devils.

The 31-year-old does have other suitors, including AC Milan, Juventus, Barcelona and a number of other Premier League teams, but you would suspect that he’d favour a move to United if they do table an offer for him.

Manager Erik ten Hag is looking to sign a new right-back. Bayer Leverkusen’s Jeremie Frimpong, Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries and Lyon’s Malo Gusto have all been linked and it remains to be seen how highly Meunier is ranked on his list of targets.
