“Soon, We Will Decide…” 22 Goal Dutch Ace Issues Transfer Update Amid Premier League Interest

PSV Eindhoven forward Xavi Simons has revealed that he is weighing up the possibility of moving teams this summer.

The Dutchman, who has been linked with Manchester United, Manchester City and Arsenal in recent days, says that he will make a decision on his future after he returns from international duty:

“I don’t know yet. I’m now with the Dutch national team, I’m going to work here for two weeks and then we’ll see what happens. Soon we will decide together with family what is best for me.”

Simons scored 22 goals and provided 12 assists in 48 appearances for PSV last season, and his performances have undoubtedly attracted the attention of United manager Erik ten Hag.

Another club do have an option to sign Simons

The 20-year-old only joined PSV on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, but his former team do have the option to buy him back for €12m (£10m).

However, Simons has previously emphasised that he would have the final say about a potential return to PSG. The Netherlands international left France to get more first team football and he would be reluctant to go back if he isn’t guaranteed regular game time.

Simons would be a useful squad option

Although the Dutchman is an attacking midfielder by trade, he has been deployed in various positions by PSV. He has played both as a left winger and no.10, whilst he has also been occasionally deployed as a centre-forward and on the right flank.

That flexibility could tempt United into making an offer for Simons. The club are keen to strengthen their options up front, with Anthony Martial expected to leave Old Trafford, and the PSV star could prove to be a useful addition. We shall see what Simons decides to do in the coming weeks.
