“It Would be Exciting” – Louis Saha Urges United To Seal £26M Transfer

Ex-Manchester United striker Louis Saha says that he is hoping his former club wrap up a deal to sign Fiorentina midfielder Sofyan Amrabat.

The Red Devils are said to be weighing up a move for the Moroccan international and Saha believes he would instil greater energy and intensity into Erik ten Hag’s team:

‘Amrabat is a player that I really like and he’s got a great intensity level that I don’t believe is matched. It would be exciting to see him at Manchester United and he would improve the overall balance of the squad. We need legs, we need energy and we need strength that can help us upset teams.”

It is believed that Amrabat is on United’s radar, with Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reporting that Erik ten Hag’s side are watching the player “very closely”.

Some reports in Italy have even claimed that the 26-year-old has agreed personal terms ahead of a move to Old Trafford but, so far, a bid has not been lodged.

Amrabat won’t cost a massive amount

Fiorentina’s asking price is said to be just €30m (£26m), which is not a great deal of money, considering what other players are going for in the transfer market.

After an outstanding World Cup, where he played a key role in helping Morocco reach the semi-finals, it is actually surprising that Amrabat isn’t in higher demand.

United may need to sell before they buy

Although they are clearly showing interest in Amrabat, the Red Devils are not exactly short of options in the middle of the park at the moment.

Fred, is however, expected to leave Manchester before the end of August and, if the Brazilian does depart in the coming weeks, it would open the door for United to bring in another midfielder, with Amrabat seemingly top of the list.
