Club “Afraid” That United Will Swoop In And Sign £69M Rated French Ace, With Player Ready To “Agree” Transfer

Eintracht Frankfurt are “afraid” that Manchester United will make a bid for Randal Kolo Muani, which could tempt the player into leaving, according to Bild reporter Christian Falk.

Writing in his Caught Offside Substack column, the journalist says that Frankfurt are keen to keep hold of the Frenchman for another season but United may complicate things if they make a formal offer:

“Frankfurt are afraid of one club when it comes to the future of Randal Kolo Muani – Manchester United, They heard that PSG weren’t so keen on the player right now, so they hoped to keep him for one more year but the only unknown for them is United. They are still waiting for the offer United were preparing.”

“If they come, I think Kolo Muani would agree because there are not so many clubs left and they were one of the first who showed interest. The offer is not on the table now but Frankfurt are still afraid and now we have to see what they will do.”

A backup option for Rasmus Hojlund

Reports have suggested that United are negotiating concurrently with Atalanta and Frankfurt for both Hojlund and Muani. While the feeling is that the former is the number one target, a move for Muani is still being worked on just in case the Hojlund deal collapses.

Atalanta boss Gian Piero Gasperini has already said that his club could demand as much as €100m (£86m) for Hojlund and, if United are priced out of a move, they may switch targets to Muani who could cost slightly less at €80m (£69m).

United may still have competition for Randal Kolo Muani

While Falk has mentioned that Paris Saint-Germain are not expected to enter the race for the France international’s signature, it doesn’t rule out the possibility of other teams getting involved.

Trusted journalist Fabrice Hawkins revealed earlier this week that Chelsea and Tottenham are also keen on Muani so United may have a battle on their hands to snap up the forward.
