‘A Signing I Can Get Behind’ ‘Yes Please’ United Fans Back Bid For Winger Who Saw Chelsea Move Collapse Last Summer

Manchester United are interested in signing Crystal Palace winger Michael Olise, according to the Evening Standard.

The Frenchman only signed a new contract back in August but it included a release clause that can be activated at the end of the season.

While Olise will not make the switch to Old Trafford in January, the majority of supporters on X are still happy that the forward could join United next summer:

Olise has been in excellent form for Palace

It is not a surprise that United are lining up a move for the 22-year-old. With Jadon Sancho on his way out of the club, finding a suitable replacement is a top priority.

Olise certainly looks like he fits the bill. Since returning from a hamstring injury in November, he has scored 5 goals and provided 1 assist in 9 appearances.

He nearly moved to another Premier League team at the start of the campaign

Chelsea triggered a release clause in Olise’s contract in the summer. At the time, the fee required was only £35m but the Blues decided to pull out of the deal after being accused of tapping up by Palace.

Olise ended up putting pen to paper on a new four-year deal, which reportedly has a much higher buyout fee inserted into the agreement. We shall see if United decide to pay it.
