‘Stay Away’ ‘£65M For This Injury Prone Guy?’ Fans React To United Transfer Target’s Buyout Fee

Manchester United target Michael Olise has a £65m release clause in his contract, according to The Guardian.

The Crystal Palace winger has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils, along with Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool in recent months.

However, supporters on X are not in favour of the Manchester club pursuing Olise if they have to pay the Frenchman’s buyout fee in full:

Olise’s injury record is rather poor

The 22-year-old has made only 13 appearances this season due to hamstring injuries. He didn’t play a single game until November after originally picking up an issue at last summer’s European Under 21 Championships.

Olise then broke down twice more, once in January and again in February, before making his comeback against Manchester City earlier this month.

United’s chances of recruiting the player have been questioned

Speaking about Olise’s future earlier this week, trusted journalist David Ornstein claimed that the player would only join a club playing in the Champions League.

If that is in fact the case then United may need to switch targets. Erik ten Hag’s side won’t be playing in Europe’s top competition next season, with the team currently 13 points off the top four.

When you also take into account his fitness problems, supporters are probably correct to ask why Olise is still on the club’s list of targets.
