Manchester United are still keeping tabs on Brentford striker Ivan Toney, according to HITC Football.
It was reported earlier this week that the England international’s asking price will drop to as low as £30m to £40m this summer due to his contract situation.
Asked whether the Red Devils should consider recruiting Toney, supporters on X were very much split down the middle:
If £40m is right you have to go get him

Hojlund does need support
While nobody can dispute the potential of Rasmus Hojlund based on his performances during his first season at Old Trafford, he can’t be the only no.9 in the squad.
Anthony Martial is set to leave on a free transfer at the end of June and it means United will have even fewer options up front. A new forward must be brought in and if Toney is available for a low price, he can’t be overlooked.
United would face competition for Toney
It is believed that Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and Arsenal have also considered bids for the 28-year-old. With that level of competition, you do wonder whether Brentford would accept the fee being reported publicly.
Whatever the case may be, it does appear as if Toney will be on the move in the coming months and there is still a chance he could end up in Manchester.
