Ajax striker Brian Brobbey says he can see himself playing for the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal or Real Madrid in the future.

The Dutchman has been in good form this season, having scored 21 goals and provided 10 assists in 39 appearances, and he also claims he could be worth up to €80m (£69m) if he plays well for the Netherlands at Euro 2024:

“I’m about to blossom. If I see myself and how I have played in the last few months, I think I am doing quite well. I still want to achieve many great things in my career, such as playing for a very big football club.”

“Real Madrid is a beautiful club. Arsenal, Manchester United… How much am I worth? After the European Championships, €80m. Going to the European Championships is also a dream of mine.”

“If I can score a goal, I promote myself even more and increase my value. If I succeed, I’m doing well. I have to score that goal. I want to pay Ajax back. Of course, I left, but they brought me back. I want to make sure I have been worth it.”

Ten Hag is a fan of Brobbey

United have been linked with the 22-year-old before, with manager Erik ten Hag said to rate the Dutchman pretty highly, having given him his senior debut for Ajax in October 2020.

There will, of course, be plenty of other clubs looking at Brobbey due to his performances. Despite Ajax having struggled in the Eredivisie this season, the forward has been one of their few shining lights.

United will be in the market for a striker

With Anthony Martial expected to leave Old Trafford when his contract expires at the end of the season, the Red Devils will need to sign a replacement.

Rasmus Hojlund will effectively be the only senior centre-forward when Martial departs the club so some of the weight needs to be taken off his shoulders. Whether United pursue Brobbey may depend on his price and if ten Hag is still at the club this summer.
