United Told To “Take The Money” For 46 Cap International Forward If Arsenal Table 60M Bid

Stan Collymore believes Manchester United should consider selling Marcus Rashford if Arsenal are serious about tabling an offer for the striker.

There have been rumours this week that the Gunners are interested in the England international, who has been capped 46 times by his country, and Collymore says it could be a good move for all concerned if United offload the player:

“From Man United’s perspective, if it were up to me, I would let him go and take the money for him, and it would be good money too. You’re easily going to be talking £60m, maybe more. I think that scenario would be good for United, good for Arsenal and good for the player himself.”

To be honest, reports about Arsenal’s interest are not that reliable and, considering Rashford’s good form recently, it would be a big surprise if manager Erik ten Hag wanted to let him go. Collymore is way off the mark with these comments.

Some have suggested that Rashford’s contract situation may hasten the 24-year-old’s exit from Old Trafford, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season. However, the Red Devils will almost certainly trigger their option to extend his stay for another year.

It means United do have time on their side when it comes to negotiating an extension and they won’t be considering a sale anytime soon.
