United Handed Double Premier League Award Win After Strong September

Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag has won the Manager of the Month award for September, the Premier League have confirmed.

The Dutchman beat off competition from the likes of Tottenham’s Antonio Conte and Bournemouth caretaker boss Gary O’Neil for the prize, having guided his team to two wins this month.

It has also been confirmed that Marcus Rashford has been awarded the Player of the Month, having scored two goals and provided two assists in the victories over Leicester and Arsenal.

Manchester City playmaker Kevin De Bruyne, Spurs midfielder Pierre Emile Hojbjerg, Everton winger Alex Iwobi, Aston Villa’s Jacob Ramsey and Bournemouth’s Philip Billing were also nominated but Rashford has deservedly been given the accolade after two excellent performances.

It remains to be seen whether the 24-year-old will be available for the Manchester derby this weekend. He picked up a muscular injury during the win against Arsenal and he hasn’t been able to train in the build-up to the match at the Etihad.
