Borussia Dortmund striker Youssoufa Moukoko is demanding a wage of £6m a year (approximately £115,000 a week), according to reports in the English media.

The German international is currently locked in talks with Dortmund over a contract extension but he could still leave the Bundesliga side next summer when his current deal expires, with Manchester United among the teams keen on signing the forward.

Moukoko’s wage demands are unlikely to be an issue for the Red Devils, but they will also have to see off major competition from the likes of Chelsea and Liverpool for the teenager’s signature.

The key to convincing the 18-year-old into moving to Old Trafford could be guarantees over game time. The player wants to be playing regularly so manager Erik ten Hag will need to persuade him that he will be a key part of his first-team plans.

With United needing a new number nine following the departure of Cristiano Ronaldo, they can present a pretty strong case to Moukoko that he will get the starts he wants.
