United To Sign Ultimate Striker To Help Develop Martial And Rashford

Martial and Rashford might be facing some serious competition next season, from one of the greatest strikers in the world. Gonzalo Higuain who is currently under contract with Napoli was repeatedly linked to a move to the UK and the time has come for him to make a decision. The 28-year-old Argentina international who has maintained an incredible scoring rate for both his current club and Real Madrid is going into his last year of contract at the end of 2016 and the Italian side will likely be looking to sell. After moving to Serie A for £30million it is expected that Napoli will ask for almost twice that amount. Fortunately, United not only have the financial power but also have the leverage to bring in this amazing scorer.

Players could be part of a swap. Even if that is not the case, Manchester are still the favorites in signing Higuain. Why? Because Arsenal are not ready to splash that much money on a 28-year-old, Chelsea have Costa and seem to have eyes on other targets, City have Aguero and Pep will want what he wants, Tottenham have Kane and Liverpool have Benteke, Sturridge and Origi.  Also because they have the money, they have high standards, they don’t step back when it comes to using players over the age of 30 and most importantly, they have something special – the Manchester United spirit.

It would be good news to see the Argentinian play for United. He is very likely to have the same impact van Persie did during his first season at Old Trafford. Manchester need that because despite having Martial and Rashford, they still need Higuain to deliver during those big games, mostly outside of the domestic competition and he could teach the youngsters a great deal and spur Rooney on. According to Metro, seeing him play for the Devils is almost a certainty as his girlfriend was spotted house-hunting in Manchester. As mentioned above, there’s no other destination for Higuain other than United.

Aside from the massive gain in firepower, Manchester United would also have a lot to gain because of Higuain’s experience. As mentioned having Rashford and Martial learn from the Argentinian would make the two unstoppable. They are already impressing the audiences – imagine what they would do after training next to Higuain for a year or two. With Rooney’s determination and with Higuain’s killer instinct in front of goal plus Martial and Rashford United would have one of the deadliest attacks in Europe.

This seems like an unlikely one but remember when United had four top strikers to choose from? They were irrestible when they had those options under SAF and they were playing the amount of games to keep all the strikers happy.
