United Target Serie A Marksman Who Has Scored 116 Goals In Last Four Years

Manchester United have added Lazio goal machine Ciro Immobile to their list of summer transfer targets, according to reports in the Italian media.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is keen to recover the goals lost by selling Romelu Lukaku to Inter Milan last year and Immobile is a player that has been considered.

Since moving to Lazio four years ago, the Italian international has scored an incredible 116 goals in 167 appearances. This season alone, he has bagged 27 goals in just 26 league games for the Serie A club.

However, with Immobile now 30 years of age, and with the player happy at the Stadio Olimpico, the likelihood of the striker moving to Old Trafford is low.

While the Italian is undoubtedly an excellent goalscorer, he wouldn’t fit in with the profile of player that United would be looking for. Solskjaer would prefer a forward who can play right across the front line, who is quick and relatively young; none of which would match with Immobile’s qualities.
