United Table £49.6m Bid For Serie A Ace Who Has Scored 11 Goals And Provided 9 Assists This Season

Manchester United have offered €55m (£49.6m) for Fiorentina winger Federico Chiesa, according to reports in the Italian media.

The Viola are believed to be open to selling the Italian international, who has scored 11 goals and contributed nine assists in 37 games this season.

United are likely testing the waters with Chiesa just in case their move for Borussia Dortmund’s Jadon Sancho collapses.

The Red Devils have reportedly agreed personal terms on a five-contract with the 20-year-old but, at the time of writing, they have yet to agree a transfer fee for the player.

Dortmund are insisting on United paying €120m (£108m) for Sancho, and it is believed there have been advanced talks over how the deal will be structured, in regards to instalments and add-ons.

Comparing the two players, you would have to say that Sancho would be the better buy ahead of Chiesa, but it is clear that the Italian is very much the club’s backup plan if the current impasse with Dortmund isn’t resolved.
