United Set To End Pursuit Of £40m Rated Talent As Solskjaer Makes Surprise Transfer Decision

Manchester United may decide against making a move for Crystal Palace fullback Aaron Wan-Bissaka, according to reports in England.

The 21-year-old, who was believed to be a £40m summer target, is no longer a priority with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer opting to keep faith with youngster Diogo Dalot.

The United boss has picked the Portuguese youngster regularly in recent games, usually in a more advanced role as a winger.

However, Solskjaer believes Dalot has the potential to become an excellent right-back and he sees no sense in buying another young player in the same position.

Instead, United may look to sign Paris Saint-Germain fullback Thomas Meunier. At 27, he would offer more experience than Wan-Bissaka and would be available for a reasonable price.

The Belgian is out of contract in 2020 and has not been a first-team regular under manager Thomas Tuchel this season. With 12 months left to run on his current deal in the summer, PSG will likely listen to offers.
