Antony, Eriksen And Amrabat To Start; Mount Dropped: United’s Predicted XI To Face Brentford

Manchester United are in freefall at the moment and manager Erik ten Hag needs to get a positive result fast.

The defeat to Galatasaray midweek was another shocking display and the Red Devils simply need the three points against Brentford this weekend, no matter how they get them.

Despite yet another mistake on Tuesday night, Andre Onana is likely to keep his place in goal for now but he has to improve or ten Hag will be forced into dropping him.

Sergio Regulon has returned to training but ten Hag has confirmed that the Spaniard is not ready to play on Saturday. It means that Sofyan Amrabat, who has struggled as an auxiliary left-back in his last 2 games, may be asked to play there again as there are no other options available.

Diogo Dalot will take up the position on the opposite flank, with Raphael Varane and Victor Lindelof expected to keep their positions in the centre of defence.

There could be some changes in the middle of the park. Captain Bruno Fernandes was ineffective out wide against Galatasaray so he may be brought back in centrally, with Mason Mount being dropped to the bench.

Christian Eriksen is likely to start ahead of Hannibal Mejbri, with the Tunisian having been substituted at half-time midweek. Casemiro will make up the rest of the midfield three.

Antony played the last 5 minutes versus Galatasaray after returning from his special leave of absence, so there is a good chance that he will start versus Brentford. The Brazilian could line up on the right flank, with Marcus Rashford on the left wing and Rasmus Hojlund leading the line.

Manchester United’s Predicted XI to play Brentford:

Onana, Dalot, Varane, Lindelof, Amrabat, Fernandes, Casemiro, Eriksen, Antony, Hojlund, Rashford
