INEOS are keen on appointing Zinedine Zidane as Manchester United manager, according to Foot Mercato.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe is said to have set his sights on the Frenchman, who won three Champions League titles during his time as Real Madrid’s head coach.
Supporters on X remain rather sceptical though whether Zidane is being considered as Erik ten Hag’s replacement:

Zidane does have a great CV
Although fans are right to be wary of any reports about a new manager being brought in, Zidane would certainly be a strong candidate if INEOS did decide to change manager.
In addition to his 3 Champions League wins, Zidane won two La Liga titles, one Spanish Super Cup, two UEFA Super Cups and two FIFA Club World Cups during his two spells at the Bernabeu.
There are others inside INEOS who want Zidane at United
INEOS CEO Jean Claude Blanc is also known to be a big fan of the former Real Madrid boss, having reportedly tried and failed to hire him during his spell at Paris Saint-Germain.
Along with Sir Dave Brailsford, Blanc does hold a lot of influence on Ratcliffe so the rumours about Zidane should not be dismissed out of hand.
For now, it appears INEOS will keep faith with ten Hag but if results don’t improve, speculation about his future will inevitably increase.
