‘Massive Downgrade’ ‘Let’s Not Do This’ United Fans React To Claims That Ratcliffe Has Talked To Ex-Chelsea Boss

Sir Jim Ratcliffe has “asked” Bayern Munich head coach Thomas Tuchel whether he would be interested in the Manchester United job, according to Kicker reporter Georg Holzner.

The journalist claims Ratcliffe wanted to find out whether the former Chelsea boss is open to succeeding Erik ten Hag, if the Dutchmen is sacked at the end of the season.

Tuchel has not yet made a commitment as he is focused on Bayern, who are in the final 4 of the Champions League, but United fans on X are not particularly keen on the German being appointed to replace ten Hag:

Ten Hag is under serious pressure

United scraped through to the final of the FA Cup at the weekend after surviving a massive scare against Championship outfit Coventry City. They only progressed on penalties, having let a three-goal lead slip.

With the Red Devils only sitting 7th in the Premier League table as well, there is a general feeling that ten Hag could be let go due to the team’s underwhelming performances this season.

Who are the other candidates for the United job?

England boss Gareth Southgate and another former Chelsea manager, Graham Potter, are among the favourites to replace ten Hag, along with Tuchel.

Brighton’s Roberto De Zerbi and former Real Madrid head coach Zinedine Zidane have also been linked with the post.
