Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes and teammate Harry Maguire have been named in WhoScored.com‘s Team of the Week.
Fernandes was given a score of 8.14 after bagging a last-gasp winner against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Saturday.
Maguire, meanwhile, was handed a 7.65 rating for helping his side keep a clean sheet in what was a crucial game for manager Erik ten Hag, following some poor recent results.
The Dutchman was full of praise for Maguire following the match at the weekend, stating he was very impressed with the England international’s display:
“He was playing a massive, massive game. A very good performance. He showed leadership and in and out of possession he was very good, so I’m very pleased with that performance from Harry.”
Maguire has revived his United career in a matter of months
It looked for all the world that the 30-year-old was on his way out of the club in the summer, with the Red Devils having accepted an offer from West Ham.
However, Maguire stuck to his guns and turned down the move, despite knowing that he was well down the pecking order for game time. Within the space of a few months, though, he is now back as a regular starter.
With Lisandro Martinez out injured and Raphael Varane seemingly out of favour, Maguire has managed to regain his spot in the team.
Who else made it into WhoScored’s Team of the Week?
Crystal Palace’s Sam Johnstone was named in goal after he helped the Eagles secure a 2-0 win over Burnley at Turf Moor.
Maguire is joined in a three-man defence by Nottingham Forest’s Moussa Niakhate and Manchester City’s Nathan Ake.
In midfield with Fernandes, Chelsea duo Conor Gallagher and Cole Palmer were selected alongside Manchester City pair Bernardo Silva and Jeremy Doku.
Up front, following his hat trick against Tottenham, Chelsea striker Nicolas Jackson is included, along with Brentford’s Neal Maupay.
