Manchester United winger Alejandro Garnacho was substituted at half-time during the 2-2 draw against Bournemouth on Saturday evening.
The Argentinian struggled to make an impact at the Vitality Stadium and he wasn’t performing his defensive duties, leading to manager Erik ten Hag hooking him at the interval.
Considering Garnacho has been one of United’s better performers this season, though, supporters on X are wondering whether it was the right decision to sub the player:
Can’t believe Ten Hag threw him under the bus

Ok the point is I rate gernacho a head of any attacker at United coz even at his worst his work rate is insane

Please, we don’t need another social media fiasco

He had a bad day in the office end of but don’t chuck a 19 year old lad under the bus! Also he should accept he was at fault for the goals

I love Ten Haag, but I’m noticing a disturbing trend, he’ll blame anyone but the senior players for a bad game.

Yeah… He’s definitely going to Real Madrid next summer…

There are big concerns about Ten Hag’s man management skills
While there is no indication that ten Hag and Garnacho have had a big falling out, it is not the first time that the United boss has had a disagreement with one of his players.
High-profile names such as Cristiano Ronaldo and Jadon Sancho have left under a cloud after butting heads with ten Hag.
You could argue it is a good thing the Dutchman is taking on the dressing room and establishing a certain level of discipline but it is debatable whether Garnacho deserved the treatment he received at the weekend, even if his performance was poor. Other players in the squad have been getting away with a lot worse.
United’s season is in danger of unravelling
The Red Devils have failed to win any of their last four league games, and they have now dropped down to 7th after Newcastle went above them on goal difference following their 4-0 victory over Tottenham.
There is now an increasing possibility that United will finish in their lowest ever position during the Premier League era.
