United Named As One Of Three PL Clubs Chasing 36M Deal For Bundesliga Side’s Captain

Manchester United are one of three Premier League teams who are interested in snapping up RB Leipzig captain Marcel Sabitzer, according to reports in Germany.

Liverpool and Tottenham are also tracking the Austrian international, who will have just one year remaining on his contract with the Bundesliga side this summer.

Leipzig are reportedly prepared to let Sabitzer leave so as not to lose him on a free transfer in 2022, but they have still slapped a high asking price on the 27-year-old.

They are currently demanding €42m (£36m), which is an extremely high figure considering his contract situation, so United may be hesitant about going in for the player unless his valuation drops.

Sabitzer’s ability to play in multiple positions may well have attracted the Red Devils. The Austrian is equally capable of playing in central midfield or in wide areas. He is also a major goal threat, having scored 16 in all competitions last season, and another 7 so far this campaign.
