Manchester United are keeping tabs on RB Leipzig’s Marcel Sabitzer ahead of the January transfer window, according to Jan Aage Fjortoft.
The former Norwegian international turned journalist believes the Austrian is being followed “closely” by the Red Devils who are keen on signing a right-winger to strengthen their forward options:
Alaba could be the major player in the “winter-window”. Bayern could still agree a contract, but any club would love this great player

A very efficient and dynamic player https://t.co/qkUK5i7c1N— Jan Aage Fjortoft ?️? ?? (@JanAageFjortoft) November 22, 2020
It looks as though Sabitzer is being eyed as a potential alternative to Jadon Sancho who United missed out on in the summer. The England international is valued at €120m by his club Borussia Dortmund and it’s likely that Sabitzer will be available for a lot less.
The 26-year-old missed the start of the campaign with a muscular injury but he has featured in Leipzig’s last seven games and came off the bench to face United in the 5-0 defeat at Old Trafford last month.
Sabitzer can actually play as a central midfielder as well but United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will likely be looking at the Austrian international to reinforce his forward line, which has been misfiring of late.
