United Named As One Of Seven Clubs ‘Willing To Bid’ For La Liga Speedster With 71M Release Clause

Manchester United are “willing to bid” for Villarreal winger Samuel Chukwueze but they face competition from six other teams, according to La Razon.

The Spanish publication claims that Real Madrid are now very keen to sign the pacey Nigerian international, but they say that the Red Devils, along with Chelsea, Liverpool, Wolves, Everton and Leicester are also involved.

United were linked with Chukwueze earlier this month and it does appear that the 21-year-old is emerging as the club’s main alternative to Jadon Sancho if Borussia Dortmund price them out of a move.

La Razon report that Real Madrid are considering a double swoop on Villarreal for both Chukwueze and teammate Pau Torres, although due to the interest being shown in the former, his club are likely to ask for his €80m (£71m) release clause.

For United, that would still be cheaper than signing Sancho, but Chukwueze’s record this season may put them off making such a high offer. The Nigerian has scored just one goal and provided three assists in 11 appearances this campaign.
