United May Turn Their Attention Towards 86M Rated Nigerian Ace As They Consider Potential Ronaldo Replacement

Manchester United are likely to consider Napoli striker Victor Osimhen as a potential target if they lose Cristiano Ronaldo this summer, according to reports in the Italian media.

Although the Red Devils are adamant that Ronaldo is not for sale, the player has continued to stay away from preseason training, and it is believed that the club may be forced into selling him if the situation can’t be rectified.

Osimhen has been linked with United and Arsenal in recent months but, with the Gunners having snapped up Gabriel Jesus from Manchester City, they are unlikely to be in the market for another forward.

Bayern Munich, on the other hand, could be United’s main challenger. Robert Lewandowski is pressing for a move in a similar vein to Ronaldo. If the Polish legend does leave, it could lead to the Bundesliga champions setting their sights on Osimhen.

Both United and Bayern won’t be able to secure the Nigerian’s services cheaply, though. Napoli are likely to demand around €100m (£86m) for the player.
