Samuel Luckhurst Makes 120K A Week Salary Cut Claim As Ronaldo’s Reasons For Leaving United Are Spelled Out

Manchester United forward Cristiano Ronaldo is not happy about the fact that he has had to take a £120,000 a week wage reduction after the Red Devils failed to qualify for the Champions League, according to journalist Samuel Luckhurst.

The Manchester Evening News reporter believes that, combined with frustrations over the club’s inactivity in the transfer market, it has led to Ronaldo asking to leave Old Trafford:

It’s thought that Ronaldo is now earning £360,000 a week, rather than £480,000 a week which, from United’s perspective, seems like a very prudent clause to include in his contract.

However, the loss of earnings has seemingly contributed to Ronaldo’s desire to move clubs. At the moment, though, it is still unclear who would be interested in signing the 37-year-old.

Chelsea, Bayern Munich and, surprisingly, Napoli have been credited with an interest in the Portuguese international, but Luckhurst suggests that United have doubts over whether there is an “obvious buyer” for the player.
