United Make Enquiry For Ex-Arsenal Shot Stopper Amid Doubts Over De Gea’s Future

Manchester United have made enquiries for Juventus goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny, according to Il Messaggero.

The Italian newspaper reports that the Manchester club’s interest in Polish international could lead to Juve bidding for AC Milan’s Gianluigi Donnarumma.

Szczesny has been the Serie A side’s number one for the past year following Gianluigi Buffon’s move to Paris Saint-Germain.

The former Arsenal keeper could be a candidate if United can’t tie down David De Gea to a new contract at Old Trafford.

Recent reports have indicated that the Red Devils are hopeful that the Spaniard will sign on the dotted line but he is now inside the final twelve months of his current deal at the club.

United’s scouts are likely scouring Europe for potential replacements just in case De Gea opts to run down his contract.

Szczesny has progressed as a goalkeeper since leaving the Premier League but the 29-year-old would have big boots to fill if he were to move to United.
