Manchester United have made Tottenham midfielder Christian Eriksen a top transfer target, according to reports in England.
The Danish international could be the subject of an opening £60m offer from the Red Devils, but he will not be sold on the cheap despite his contract situation.
Eriksen’s current deal runs out in 2020 and Spurs will need to offload the player this summer to prevent him from leaving at the end of next season.
Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy is desperate to sell him abroad rather than to a Premier League rival but there are only a few clubs who could afford the player.
Real Madrid are reportedly one possible option, but the La Liga side are also pursuing Chelsea’s Eden Hazard and may not see the Dane as a transfer priority.
However, for United, Eriksen could be a marquee signing with manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer keen to strengthen in all areas of the pitch ahead of next season.
The Spurs playmaker has scored nine goals and laid on an impressive 17 assists in all competitions this campaign.
