Manchester United are interested in signing Juventus right-back Joao Cancelo, according to reports in Italy.

The Portuguese international only signed from Valencia for €40m (£35m) last summer but has struggled to displace Mattia De Sciglio in the first team on a regular basis.

Cancelo has made 30 appearances in all competitions for the Bianconeri this campaign but has started just 19 times in the league.

The Serie A champions are said to be open to selling the 24-year-old after just one season, with United believed to be prepared to make their move for the fullback this summer.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has confirmed that captain Antonio Valencia will be leaving Old Trafford at the end of the season, which means they will be seeking a replacement for the Ecuadorian veteran.

Crystal Palace’s Aaron Wan-Bissaka has been heavily linked, while Paris Saint-Germain’s Thomas Meunier has also been suggested as a more experienced option.
